We celebrated Spring Equinox on Wednesday and welcomed the new season with warmer temperatures, sunshine and the wonderful scent that is synonymous with spring - earth.

The shift into spring always leaves me feeling joyful, content and quite optimistic. Do you notice a shift in your disposition along with the change in season? Everything just feels so fresh and new and it is such a beautiful time for renewal.

With renewal and change at the forefront of my mind, here are some favourite tools to welcome the shift in seasons.

Holistic Beauty and Wellness Tools:

Scent - one of my most loved ways to welcome spring is with scent. Finding well made, good for me scents has been important to me since first transitioning to a holistic lifestyle some years ago. We don’t use many scents within our home so finding a scent that wasn’t overpowering and wouldn’t give me a headache was top priority. I stumbled upon My Daughter Fragrances a few years ago and it was love at first whiff. Soft, feminine, long lasting, inspired by traditional French perfumeries while being phthalate, paraben and colour free; it is beauty and simplicity in a bottle. Joyful is my go to, everyday scent while Bloom 23 makes an appearance in the summer months and My Wild is for the days I’m feeling a little bit saucy.

I have a few go to cream blushes that I rotate through the seasons with, however, this seasons favourite - Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Blossoming. Holistic Wellness Rituals:

Nourishing my body with greens in the morning and midday provide a great energy boost for me. Eating a large enough meal of greens at breakfast to provide the energy boost and immunity I so crave, isn’t always possible or practical, so I have added The Synergy Company’s Pure Synergy Green Superfood to my mornings. Breathwork - Not quite a ritual yet, as I have only been practicing a short time but one that I would love to implement long term. I have recently joined Ashley Neese’s Spring Renewal Breathwork Challenge (you can find it on Instagram Live for the next ten mornings, until April 3rd.) The guided practice sessions are twenty minutes in length and they have been a beautiful reset for me and a wonderful way to welcome this new season. Ashley recently wrote her first book titled How To Breathe which is currently available for preorder with a release date of April 2nd. Breathwork is a practice that I have wanted to implement for a few years now, especially as my other self care practices have deepened and become such stabilizing rituals for me.

I have found myself longing for time spent on my yoga mat once again. For the time being, practicing at home feels most nourishing to my body and my soul. Finding the balance between challeging myself and listening to my body and my intuition, allowing them to guide my flow and move me out of my comfort zone has felt nurturing and sustainable. My current practice, of really going with the flow, asking myself what my soul and body desire has me feeling the best I have felt in quite some time.
