Releasing Discomfort

Releasing Discomfort

As I lay on the cold, frozen grass, my body supported by the earth, melting into it, my soul feeling calm and at home

I realized that lifetimes long before this one, the ritual of grounding on the earth, letting all of my worries fall from me for Mother Earth to heal - this feeling, this ritual, this needing to be one with the ground beneath me ... was a feeling so old and so comforting.

As the discomfort dripped from my body, I saw my chest rise and fall, warm breath steaming in the cold air. Focusing on the stars above, dreaming of where they may be and which may be airplanes and not in fact stars, a shooting star flew past and as quickly as it arrived and disappeared again, peace settled into my bones.
