I hopped into my car and made my way north, enamoured by the trees, their green, mustard and rust coloured leaves, shifting just as we are.
Pulled as if by an invisible thread, I found myself on old roads, ones left untravelled by me in years but ones that my soul remembered deeply, as if they made up the fabric of my being. Each twist and turn pulled at my heart, memories of a forgotten place coming back into focus, the magic and beauty of lands so close to home yet so far from this life.
As I drove, wondering if I would find myself lost, I instead found myself filled with a quiet excitement at the possibility that lay ahead.
Just as the thought faded, there it was, a familiar place close yet far from home. A place where as a creature of habit, l always travel the same roads to reach. This day, however, choosing the road less traveled, led me to that same place in a completely new way.
A reminder that there is always magic to be found and sometimes, allowing oneself to be guided by an unseen force is exactly what we need.
